Georgie: The Plot Solidifies

I’ve been waiting for the next Georgie book, and The Plot Solidifies jumps straight into the story without missing a beat. It’s great to have the gang back together, though not everyone is where they used to be. Hayler and Cute Guy seem to have moved on, while Troylene are stronger and more inseparable than ever. Georgie herself appears to have love interests, maybe even a chance at something real this time, but as always, nothing is ever simple in her world. The pacing feels confident from the first page, and it’s easy to fall back into the familiar chaos that makes this series so engaging.
There’s plenty happening beyond the romance. Trouble is brewing at the animal rescue shelter, and Sister Catherine being out of jail is not good news for anyone. The dolls are back too, their presence stirring up memories and unease in equal measure. The story moves quickly but never feels rushed, layering humour, tension, and emotion with careful precision. The mix of returning characters and new challenges keeps things fresh, while subtle echoes of the first book remind readers how far this world has come.
What I love most is how it still feels grounded in the world the first book built, full of familiar faces, chaotic friendships, and the lingering pull of old memories. Mentions of places like The Tote brought back memories of my younger years in the punk scene, and that sense of place gives the story warmth and authenticity. Georgie: The Plot Solidifies feels like catching up with old friends who have grown, stumbled, and changed in all the ways you hoped and feared they might. It’s a satisfying continuation that deepens the world without losing what made it special in the first place.
