This book is a warm, practical and insightful guide to one of the most overlooked aspects of wellbeing, interoception, our ability to notice and understand the signals coming from inside our body. Goodall and Brownlow explain why this skill matters for self regulation and connection with others, and provide step by step, adaptable strategies for teaching it.

The writing is clear and accessible, grounded in both lived experience and research, and filled with activities that work for a wide range of ages and neurotypes, especially autistic and otherwise neurodivergent people. I appreciated that it does not assume a one size fits all approach. There is room for curiosity, play and adapting ideas to real life contexts.

If you support others as an educator, therapist, parent or carer, or if you want to better understand and support your own interoception, this is a compassionate and empowering read. It bridges theory and practice beautifully and left me with new ways to notice and respond to what my body is telling me. I recommend it for anyone interested in body awareness and emotional regulation.
