Wear It Purple Day is Friday 28 August 2026
This year’s theme, Colours of Courage, celebrates the everyday courage of LGBTQIA+SB young people and the allies, families and communities who stand beside them.
Courage can look like expressing your identity, using someone’s correct name and pronouns, challenging discrimination, asking for support, or creating spaces where everyone feels welcome. These everyday actions help build more inclusive communities.
Whether it’s a jumper, socks, a hat or your favourite purple outfit, wearing purple is a simple but visible way to show your support. It lets LGBTQIA+SB young people know they are seen, valued and belong.
Let’s proudly stand with LGBTQIA+SB communities and continue creating environments where everyone can be their authentic selves.
