Transgender Awareness Week – 13 to 19 November 2025

This week is a time to celebrate the strength and diversity of transgender people and those whose genders exist beyond the Western binary.

It is a moment to recognise the courage it takes to live authentically and to honour those who have worked toward greater visibility and acceptance.

This week invites us to listen, learn and reflect. True inclusion means creating spaces where everyone feels safe to be themselves, to be respected and to belong.

As we mark this week, we celebrate resilience, pride and community while acknowledging the challenges that remain.

Let us work together to create a world where transgender people and those whose genders exist beyond the Western binary can live freely and proudly.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
