NEUROQUEERING

“The practice of queering (subverting, defying, disrupting, liberating oneself from) neuronormativity and heteronormativity simultaneously.” - Nick Walker

Neuroqueering, a term coined by Nick Walker, encompasses a multifaceted practice that challenges the pathologisation of neurodivergent people and the ways in which this intersects with the marginalisation of queer people. It critiques the existing categorisations of gender, dis/ability labels, or sexual orientation, while also advocating for liberation and celebration of diverse experiences and identities.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
