National Reconciliation Week is 27 May to 3 June 2026

National Reconciliation Week marks two key moments in Australia’s reconciliation journey: the 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision. It is a time to reflect on how these moments continue to shape the present, and the work still ahead.

The 2026 theme, All In, calls on all of us to move beyond awareness and commit to reconciliation through everyday action.

This includes truth telling that is honest and ongoing, relationships grounded in respect, and systems that support justice and self determination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Reconciliation is not something we observe for a week. It is something we practice in how we listen, how we respond, and what we are willing to change.

Moving from acknowledgement into meaningful action means carrying this work beyond the week, in how we show up with consistency, accountability, and care.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
