Intersex Awareness Day is on October 26th!

Intersex Awareness Day is a day to honour intersex people, raise awareness, and advocate for bodily autonomy and rights.

Intersex people are born with natural variations in sex characteristics that don’t fit typical definitions of male or female.

This day reminds us to challenge assumptions, respect identities, and support the intersex community in living freely and safely.

Let’s celebrate diversity beyond the binary and commit to creating spaces where all bodies and identities are respected.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
