International Pronouns Day in 2025 is on October 15th!

Pronouns are the words we use to talk about a person when we are not using their name.

These might be they/them, she/her, he/him, or other pronouns, including neopronouns like zie/zir or xe/xem.

Some people use one set of pronouns (e.g., Rae’s pronouns are they/them), and some use more than one (e.g., Alex’s pronouns are zie/zir and they/them interchangeably).

It is important to respect everyone’s pronouns. When it comes to learning new pronouns for someone it is necessary to practice.

There are lots of pronouns to choose from. Have you learned any new pronouns from this list?

Forms may vary by individual preference. Not all pronouns could be listed.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
