October is Polyennic Pride Month!

Also recognised as ADHD Awareness Month, this is a time to celebrate the richness of polyennic minds, our many ways of engaging with attention, energy, and creativity.

The word polyennic, coined by Raven Cochrane, provides a neuro-affirming, depathologised alternative to “ADHD.” It simply means “many thoughts,” honouring difference without deficit.

Polyennic Pride Month is about embracing both the strengths and the very real challenges of living in a world largely designed for monoennic people.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
