Nonviolent Communication offers a simple framework for slowing things down and reconnecting with clarity and care.

Observations help us stay with what’s actually happening.

Feelings point us toward what’s alive in us.

Needs remind us of our shared humanity.

Requests invite choice rather than compliance.

These steps don’t have to be linear. You can begin wherever awareness is most accessible in the moment.

This model is influenced by the work of Marshall B. Rosenberg, the founder of Nonviolent Communication, and adapted here through a neurodivergent, relational, and therapeutic lens.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
