I love making kinetic sand!

There’s something therapeutic about the process. Mixing, adjusting, noticing texture, and responding to what it needs. It invites experimentation without pressure to get it “right.”

Recipe:

• 2 cups sand

• 1 cup cornstarch

• 1 tbsp silicone oil

• Food colouring

• A touch of slime

Mix dry ingredients first, then slowly add the wet until it’s soft and mouldable.

Simple, hands-on, and regulating. There’s no perfect formula, just noticing what is needed.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
