AuDHD Day is 9 September!

AuDHD Day is a community led awareness day, created in 2025 to create greater visibility, understanding and recognition for people who are both Autistic and ADHD.

AuDHD is more than simply “Autism + ADHD”. The interaction between these neurotypes can shape a unique way of experiencing, processing and engaging with the world.

You might love routine and seek novelty. You might experience deep, sustained interests alongside a constantly shifting attention system. You might seek connection while also needing plenty of solitude. You might need both predictability and stimulation.

These are not flaws or contradictions. They are part of the diversity of AuDHD ways of being.

There is no single way to be AuDHD. We deserve to be understood as whole people, with our needs, strengths, identities, interests and ways of experiencing the world respected.

Self understanding and lived experience matter, whether or not someone has formal diagnoses.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
