Trans Day of Visibility is about recognising the lives, stories and contributions of trans people everywhere.

For many people visibility can be joyful and empowering. For others it can be complicated or even unsafe. This day is not about forcing anyone into the spotlight.

Trans Day of Visibility is about acknowledging the richness and diversity of trans lives and making space for trans people to exist openly, safely and with dignity.

Trans people have always existed across cultures and throughout history. Their presence strengthens our communities, expands our understanding of gender and reminds us that authenticity matters.

Trans communities inspire with courage, creativity and tenderness. The strength, creativity and knowledge within these communities continues to shape our world and remind us that every trans life matters.

Visibility matters. Safety matters. Joy matters. Trans lives matter.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
