PHYSICAL DISABILITY AWARENESS DAY

On February 1 we celebrate the many contributions, experiences, and voices of physically disabled people.

We recognise the leadership, creativit, and advocacy within this community, from shaping accessible spaces and policies to enriching arts, workplaces, and communities in countless ways.

We honour the stories, achievements, and everyday lives of physically disabled people and the ways they inspire connection, understanding, and inclusion.

Unity, visibility, and inclusion are at the heart of this day.

Let us listen, learn, celebrate, and ensure that physically disabled people are seen, heard, and valued every day.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
