“I stated making this at Thriving Autistically’s Constructing Autistic Wellbeing with Rae and Linda.

The puppet is me. The black bars are my prison, my mask. The hands are protecting my heart, my heart made with pipe cleaners, soft and exposed. I added extra pipe cleaners for sensory input to help me stim. The flowers and cat represent precious things in my life. The blue is water. I am drowning. I’m proud of this, it shows me.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
