October 8 is International Lesbian Day!

International Lesbian Day is a day to celebrate lesbian love, visibility, community and connection.

It recognises lesbian histories, cultures and identities, while celebrating the diversity of experiences within lesbian communities.

It is also an opportunity to recognise the importance of visibility and creating spaces where lesbians can feel seen, valued and supported.

There is no one way to be a lesbian, and lesbian communities include people with many different identities, experiences and ways of living.

International Lesbian Day is an opportunity to celebrate lesbian joy, authenticity and community.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
