International Day of Peace

International Day of Peace is 21 September
This year’s theme, “Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day,” invites us to think about peace not simply as the absence of conflict, but as something we actively create, nurture and protect.
Peace is connected to safety, dignity, justice, belonging and having the freedom to live as yourself. It means creating environments where people can feel safe in their homes, relationships, communities and workplaces.
Peace also asks us to look beyond individual wellbeing. We cannot create lasting peace without addressing the systems and inequalities that make some people less safe, less heard or less valued than others.
Investing in peace means investing in connection, compassion, accessibility, equity and communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Peace is not something we simply hope for. It is something we build together, every day.
