As Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Awareness Month comes to a close, awareness, compassion, and meaningful change should not end with May.

This year’s theme, “Uniting for Change,” reminds us that progress happens when communities come together to challenge stigma, improve access to support, and create more compassionate spaces.

BPD is still widely misunderstood, and many experiences connected to it are shaped not only by emotional distress and trauma, but also by invalidation, shame, and difficulty accessing supportive care. Compassionate, trauma-informed, evidence-based support can make a meaningful difference.

Awareness matters, but so does humanity. Every person deserves dignity, respect, understanding, and support beyond labels and assumptions.

Thank you to everyone helping create more informed and compassionate communities.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
