Being both Autistic and Trans isn’t rare but it’s still too often misunderstood.

Here’s what the research tells us:

1 in 3 Trans Autistic folks have had their gender identity questioned by professionals due to their Autism diagnosis

Trans adults are 3-6 times more likely to be Autistic

Autistic Trans teens face higher rates of:

• Cyberbullying

• School exclusion

4-9% of Autistic folks identify as Trans or Gender Diverse

Trans Autistic folks are at greater risk of trauma and mental distress

Being Trans and Autistic is a beautiful intersection that needs respect, visibility, and support.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
